Khong Pikka
"Khlong Pikka" is a large canal that runs south of Bang Bo District. On its north side, it is connected to Khlong Samrong and Khlong Bang Phli Noi, and Khlong Pikka flows down to the south. This canal also serves as a natural boundary between two provinces, Samut Prakan and Chachoengsao.
In the past, Khlong Pikka was a busy thoroughfare. It connected to many branch canals such as the Skạd si sib canal, Skạd pad sib canal, Samae Denn canal, Khwai canal, Mangkorn canal, Krajut canal, Nikhom canal, and Kon Bueng canal. These canals were fully functional in those days and rich in many natural fish. Most people were engaged in agriculture, farming, and fish raising, and they used boats as their primary means of transportation.
In the past, Pikka Canal was also home to Pikka Temple (now known as Panprasittharam Temple) and Pikka Market. It was the center of the community and a bustling commercial area. However, with the development of roads cutting through various communities, water traffic has greatly reduced, and the canal has lost its popularity. Nowadays, it is easy to forget the atmosphere of the past.
